The hotel is in a marvelous, beautiful location. the staff is extremely friendly and efficient. - the rooms are newly decorated and generous-sized with a lovely balcony. - There is a nice pool on the property.

The hotel is reasonably clean inside which was great. The breakfast was adequate and satisfying, offering a variety of options including bacon and beer. The King room was excellent and comfortable.

Spa facilities, sauna in particular, in need of repair. Breakfast not bad but room for improvement. Location at the end of a long, pot-holed, sometimes narrow and winding road not ideal when it comes to traveling around - but this is the price you pay for the isolation and fantastic setting. Occasional bus-loads of tourists visiting the adjacent viewpoint and gift shop. If the weather is going to be bad it will be bad at this altitude - but if this is an issue you would choose to stay in Funchal.

The hotel is luxurious and immaculately clean, has world class views to Valley of the Nuns. The breakfast is good hot, includes plenty of meals. The units are recently refurbished, generous sized. It has service-oriented, attentive staff.

The staff at Eira Do Serrado - Hotel & Spa was exceptionally nice and outstandingly accommodating. the room was new-fashioned, with a clean bathroom and a work desk. the restaurant served reasonably priced meals.

This must be one of the most beatifully located hotels in Madeira. The very spaceous and comfortable rooms have balconies with views over the Curral das Freiras valley, which should already be enough reason to spend a night in the Estalagem Eira do Serrado. Good breakfast, and meals served in the restaurant are of high quality and good value for money. The jacuzzi and sauna (free) are very welcome after walking up the Nun's path to reach the hotel from Curral das Freiras. Busses from Funchal also stop in front of the hotel in the morning, and some from Curral in the afternoon. All in all, a great place to spend a few days if you like wonderful views, tranquility, close proximity to the mountains of Madeira and great food.
